We've moved on to working on our new house, but that doesn't mean we can't remember the work we did on our old one. It was a foreclosure that we bought a little over six months after getting married and it needed a lot of work. Below are the "before" pictures and then links to many of the projects we did. Downstairs:
- Take off extra slats from blinds
- Build a new desk for the den
- Paint sidelights and front door
- Get a rug for the den
- Fix up the half bathroom
- Replace the kitchen sink and faucet
- Replace the two fans in the family room
- Get a new range hood
- Find something to store our sheet music in
- Add a rod and shelves in the laundry room
- Replace the kitchen counters
Upstairs:
- Paint the stairwell and hallway
- Paint all three bedrooms
- Paint the rec room
- Fix cracks and some drywall issues in the rec room
- Install new blinds
- Redo the hallway bathroom
- Redo the master bathroom
- Get our closet organized with shelves, drawers, etc.
- Eventually add a sectional and big new TV to the rec room
- New light fixtures in the hallway / stairwell
- Install light fixtures in all 4 bedrooms' ceilings
Garage:
Outside:
- Replace the mailbox
- Tear out the tree next to the driveway
- Replace crab apple tree
- Plant a veggie garden
- Remove existing landscaping in the backyard
- Remove hot tub pad
- Replace concrete pad with new patio
- Replace back door with new sliding door
- Add flower beds and landscaping
- Reside or retrim the house
