Boat-Loads Of Ice Cream

Not long ago we had our annual canoe trip with family and friends. (I talked about it a little bit last year as well, so this may sound familiar.) The weather ended up being perfect the morning we went out, which is pretty impressive since this is our twelfth year (or something like that) for this trip and we've never had it rained out. We paddled our way down the river, stopping for a quick splash in the water, lunch at the dam, and a coordinated jump off the bridge at the end of our journey. It's a great tradition and I hope we can keep it going for many more years to come.

And what's the perfect finish to a morning of canoeing? Ice cream, of course! But instead of going to Howe for ice cream like we did last year we instead went back to my grandparents' place (only about 15 mins away) for some good old Miller homemade ice cream. If you've never had homemade ice cream with the Millers you may not realize what that means. It means delicious, soft ice cream and a whole lot more. We don't just have ice cream, we have cakes and snacks and toppings and whoknowswhatelse. It's more than dessert, it's a meal. Well, a meal of dessert maybe. And it's awesome. This time was no different, what with three different cakes, an assortment of other salty and sweet snacks, and a variety of ice cream toppings that make me hungry just thinking about it. And that's how the Millers do things.

Thanks for reading and we'll see you all next time!
