Weekend Fun

We had the good fortune to have a few fun weekends here lately. It started off with a family wedding in northern Indiana over Labor Day weekend. My cousin met a great guy and they tied the knot a few weekends ago. The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was fun, and it was great to see a lot of family from all around too. So congrats you two! We're so happy for you and are glad to welcome a new member of the family.

The day after the wedding we took the annual canoeing trip down the Pigeon River. My dad looked it up and it's been a traditional for over a decade now. It usually includes my dad, my sisters, some friends from church, and just about anyone else who enjoys a good paddle down a lovely river. Leslie and I haven't been every year, but it's always been fun when we can go. We also brought along a few friends, which upped the fun all the way to 11. And after canoeing it was time for a quick stop for some ice cream. You know, because ice cream.

Happiness really is ice cream!

From there we headed up to one of the guy's parents' lake house in Michigan. The weather cooperated beautifully for us and we had all kinds of fun. This included boating, boarding, bonfires, and probably a few other words that start with "b", but I can't think of them right now. It was a great time and we're so thankful that it worked out for us to go.

The next weekend was a little reunion with some college friends. We met up with two other couples for an epic triple date. We hit up Dave and Busters, the adult Chuck E. Cheese's, and then enjoyed a nice dinner at a Mexican restaurant complete with chips and salsa! Then one of the couples stayed for a sleepover and board games. What more could you ask for?

Two fun weekends in a row... what a treat. We're so thankful that we got to spend some quality time with good friends and family. And thank you all for reading. Have a great week!
