Garden Time Again... Again

Yep, that's right - back at it with another garden this year! We think (hope?) we're getting better at this whole thing... but who knows. We tried to plant more of what worked well and what we liked while ignoring everything else. So hopefully that pays off. Here's the breakdown:

Tomatoes - Cherokee Purple, Roma, Better Boy, Tomatillo
Chilies - Hot Cherry, Jalapeno, Poblano, Habanero, Tobasco
Veggies - Zucchini, Crookneck Squash, Onions
Herbs - Basil, Rosemary, Mint

And yeah, there you have it. Hopefully we end up with another good year. Thanks for reading and we'll see you soon!

Live In Concert

Remember a few months ago when Leslie and I went to a bunch of shows and were cool and did stuff? Well, we did that again. Ok, less intense since we didn't travel to Chicago or anything like that... but still!

The first was a band that I like and sorta just dragged Leslie along to. I had missed a chance to see Eisley when they were in town about five years ago, so when I saw they would be at the newly renovated and expanded Hi-Fi (where we saw Elephant Revival) I couldn't resist. I was a fan of their early albums, but didn't follow much past that... so I really only knew about half the songs they played. Still, it was a fun show and the new Hi-Fi is great. So definitely worth missing a few hours of sleep.

Our next show was one that Leslie actually wanted to go to! The only downside? It was at Ball State. So no, we didn't go to Chicago for any shows... just to Muncie to see the Wailin' Jennys. They were AMAZING in concert. They were entertaining, engaged the audience, and were, above all, incredible musicians and performers. Seriously, every bit as good live as on one of their albums. The entire show was just so relaxing and... perfect. This was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. The show closed with them doing The Parting Glass without mics... like I said, amazing. They also teased a new album coming in the next year, so hopefully we can catch them again if they tour to promote it.

And that was it - no third show, no magic dragons... just the two concerts. But that was plenty of excitement for the two of us, especially on work nights. We had a great time at both and are looking forward to more shows in the future (in fact, we already have tickets to Mike Birbiglia when he's back in September!). Anyway, thanks for reading and we'll see you soon!
