Family, Friends, and Food Trucks

Weekends are great. I especially like when we manage to find the perfect balance of fun activities and downtime. We did a pretty good job of that this weekend (and even leading up to it).

Thursday night we had two visitors - my sisters! Both of their universities were on Fall Break, so they both stopped in to see us (and by us, I mean Frank and Ellie). We ordered some Thai food from a restaurant down the street, talked about how classes and work are going, watched some TV, and just hung out and had a nice evening.

Leslie and I had already made lunch plans for Friday and one of my sisters got to join us (the other was already headed to Fort Wayne to see the parents). The growing trend of food trucks has hit Indianapolis, and we thought it would be fun to see what they had to offer. There are quite a few trucks in Indy now and normally the best way to find them is to follow them on Twitter. Sometimes they all get together in one location (#ClusterTruck) and one of these events took place Friday. We got to take our pick of food from about ten trucks - it was pretty hard to pick out lunch with so many great choices! Leslie got the Buffalo Chicken Mac from Genie Mac, I got a Stromboli from Byrnes Grilled Pizza, and my sister got a sandwich from Der Pretzel Wagen. We also got an order of Taco Fries from Groovy Guys Fries. So much good food! It was a nice day for it too. A little cool, but sunny, and it just felt like a great fall day. Definitely a great way to spend a Friday afternoon.

Saturday was another fun day - some of our friends had a Halloween party that night! It was a good time. It was nice to hang out with them, meet some new people, and even see some that we had met before. We went as... well, rednecks I guess? Hoosiers, maybe? I don't know. Just look at the picture.

And that about does it for us. Thanks for reading and we'll be back on Friday!
